Let’s make some magic
Ordinary Magic & The Art of Experience Design is a 6 week masterclass in making moments that matter.
Before you can design gatherings that move people, you need to know what it feels like to be moved. So we begin there — with experiences you design for your own life and community.
You'll create an experience for yourself, then for someone you love. Then for a small group. By the end of the course, you'll have traveled a full arc of the craft — from the most intimate scale to the principles that bring rooms full of people to life. The same design intelligence that makes a perfect evening for one person is what makes a festival feel alive.
This course shows you how those scales connect and provides a framework for creating moments people will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Over 6 weeks, we'll:
✨ Build the foundations of experience design from the ground up
✨ Design at three scales — for yourself, for someone you love, and for a group
✨ Explore creative constraints, design frameworks, and emotional intelligence practices
✨ Discover how intimate design thinking scales into large, unforgettable experiences
By the end, you will:
✨ Have a design framework you can apply to any experience you create — at any scale
✨ Have designed and tested real experiences, not just studied theory
✨ See gatherings, events, and ordinary moments differently than you do today

Testimonials
Friends, I cannot recommend this course enough! To anyone who gathers people by design (or would like to). And especially to those of us who work in the industry, and wonder if perhaps (just maybe) the most important immersive experience we're creating is a life well lived in connection with others.
— Bronwyn, Moment FactoryWhat I loved about this course was the chance to learn something that felt bigger than a skill, it was like a door to somewhere else, the entrance to a bigger world beyond the logic of designing for efficiency.
— Julieta, Malva LavaThe course feels like it helped me remember things I knew in another lifetime that I've been yearning and searching for connection to. It was equal parts tangible and applicable to the experiences I design in my own work, as well as inspiring for the curious, mischievous, joyful parts of me that have felt neglected..
